(PADANG) Khaidir Anwar’s Resource Center (RC) is a square room located on the second floor of Faculty of Humanities Andalas University. It is a place that frequently visited by English Department students, especially those who come from English Department. Visitors are required to take off their footwears before entering the room and only allowed to come inside by being barefoot. A wide blue carpet spreads across the room, which have shelves that contain lots of books collection. The other side of the room provides some computers, free to be used by the visitors. Some short, wide tables stood firmly in the middle of the room, leaving some spaces for the visitors to sit or lay down on the floor. There are also some sets of gameboard and games cards, in case the visitors want to play games. If it gets too hot inside, RC has two units of the Air Conditioner (AC) to cooling it down. Translation is an activity to change the work of literature from a foreign language to the language we use. For example, changing the novel in English into Indonesian. In 2015, translation began to open wide in Indonesia. At this time, translation has become a job. Translation works have been widely distributed in Indonesia. This public lecture took place on Monday, October 22, 2018 in the Seminar Room, Faculty of Humanities, Andalas University. This course aims to introduce the translation industry and the role of English Department students in the translation industry. What is interview ?

An Interview is a conversation where questions are asked and answered are given to get some information from some people. A person who do interview is a reporter and someone who give the information is a interviewees. Reporters use a paper and a pen to write the information, but nowadays they use voice recorder to simplify their work. Interviews usually take place face to face in person at some place. Journalism refers to the production and distribution of reports on recent events. Journalism aims is to tell everyone about events by entering the 5W1H element to the article. There is 4 steps to make report in journalism : - Gathering the information. You can get the information from interview some people. A person who do this is being called as a reporter. - Make an article from the information. After you gather all information, write the information into an article. - Editing the article.
